 E-Commerce
 PChome Online was established in 1998 with paid-up capital
of 54 billion NT dollars. It is the leading Internet service
company in Taiwan, providing a comprehensive portfolio of
network-related services including e-commerce, portal, and
telecommunications.
PChome Online has officially launched the e-commerce business
in 2000, starting by introducing PChome Online Shopping, a
B2C online shopping platform. The business grew exponentially.
According to the survey released by Market Intelligence Center
in January 2006, PChome Online Shopping has attained a market
share of 23%, and is now the largest online shopping mall
in Taiwan. From a market/product segmentation perspective,
PChome Online launched different malls such as PChome Software
Shopping, PChome Female Shopping, and PChome Online Bookstore
to cater to the demands of different target audiences. Now
there are over 510,000 different products featured on the
platform, and the monthly sales has exceeded 450 million NT
dollars.
PChome Online, based on its expertise in e-commerce, has
expanded to C2C platform by launching PChome Auction in March
2005, and introduced PChome Store at the end of the year to
offer franchise opportunities to online buyers and sellers
to build up the largest and the most comprehensive online
market in Taiwan.
In June 2006, PChome Online announced a joint venture with
eBay in building a new online auction company. A joint-sponsored
website that incorporates the global auction expertise of
eBay and the local e-commerce experience of PChome will be
launched by the two companies and provide a new online auction
experience for buyers and sellers in Taiwan.
